Session Objective(s):

Address the difficulties of caring for treatment experienced patients with HIV, including dealing with drug-resistant virus, and the complications of long-term treatment.

Incorporate approaches to maximize patient adherence with therapy and the reduction of viral transmission based on an understanding of the benefits of treatment.

  •  Major review of strategies for treatment experienced patients specifically addressing drug resistance
  • Review of treatment toxicity as it influences later regimen redesign and the incorporation of newer agents
